LEARN AL-FUSHA ARABIC TO READ THE QURAN, NEVER  READ THE TRANSLATED  VERSIONS OF THIS BOOK Peace السلام عليكم Qur'an 4:34 ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ ۚ فَٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ قَـٰنِتَـٰتٌ حَـٰفِظَـٰتٌۭ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَٱلَّـٰتِى تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّۭا كَبِيرًۭا ٣٤ [The correct and complete translation of this verse:] "Men are supporters of wives because God has given some of them an advantage over others, and because they spent of their wealth. So the ones in accord with morality are the ones who are morally obligated, and the ones who guard the unseen of what God has kept safe. And those whose resistance you fear then admonish them and abandon them in their sleeping places and go away from them, then if they are loyal to you then look not for any way against them, Truly God has been lofty, great." THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS just an example & NOT FROM THE QURAN: "إذا رأيتك تقترب من زوجتي، فَٱضْرِبْ عَنْهَا وَٱمْشِ." Translation: "If I see you approaching my wife, stay away from her and walk away." (Iza ra'aytuka taqtarib min zawjaty, fa-ḍarib 'anha wa-mshi.) The word "وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ" has 26 different meanings. Why are we choosing a meaning that is harmful to another human being? It just does not make sense and is not part of the Quranic Message and the moral and legal principles of the Quran. What did the Prophet do when he had domestic unrest (conflicts, tensions)? "He went away" and that is another meaning of "وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ". Video for more insight . In classical Qur’anic Arabic , the word "وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ" (wa-ḍribūhunna) originates from the root verb "ضرب" (ḍaraba). They cannot harm their wives. Whoever does so, certainly wrongs their own soul." Qur'an 24:6-9 وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ شُهَدَآءُ إِلَّآ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَـٰدَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭ بِٱللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٦ وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ٧ وَيَدْرَؤُا۟ عَنْهَا ٱلْعَذَابَ أَن تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭ بِٱللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ٨ وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهَآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٩ "If a husband accuses his wife of anything and he is the only witness, she has the right to defend herself by swearing an oath five times that her husband is not sincere." The verb "ḍaraba" (ضَرَبَ) in Arabic appears in various contexts in the Quran. It is used 55 times in the form of the verb "ḍaraba" and three times as the noun "ḍarb" (ضَرْب). Here are some significant examples: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:26): إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦٓ أَن يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًۭا مَّا بَعُوضَةًۭ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلًۭا ۘ يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِيرًۭا وَيَهْدِى بِهِۦ كَثِيرًۭا ۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ ٢٦ "Indeed, Allah is not ashamed to present an example of a mosquito or something even smaller than it. As for the believers, they know that it is the truth from their Lord, but as for the disbelievers, they say, 'What does Allah mean by this example?' He misleads many by it and guides many by it. And He does not mislead except the defiantly disobedient." Surah Al-Baqarah (2:60): ۞ وَإِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ ۖ فَٱنفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًۭا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍۢ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ٦٠ "And [recall] when Moses asked for water for his people, so We said, 'Strike with your staff the stone.' And there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. 'Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.'" Surah Al-Baqarah (2:73): فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُحْىِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٧٣ "So We said, 'Strike him with a piece of it.' Thus, Allah gives life to the dead, and He shows you His signs that you might use reason." Surah Al-Imran (3:112): ۞ لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءًۭ ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أُمَّةٌۭ قَآئِمَةٌۭ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ ١١٣ "They are not all the same; among the People of the Scripture is a party who stand [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during the night and prostrating." Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:106): يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ شَهَـٰدَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ حِينَ ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ ٱثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ ءَاخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَصَـٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۚ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِى بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ ۙ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَـٰدَةَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْـَٔاثِمِينَ ١٠٦ "O you who have believed, testimony [should be taken] among you when death approaches one of you at the time of bequest: two just men from among you or two others from outside if you are traveling through the land and the disaster of death strikes you. Retain them after the prayer, and let them both swear by Allah if you have doubts, saying, 'We will not exchange it for any price, even if he is a near relative, and we will not conceal the testimony of Allah. Indeed, we would then be of the sinful.'" And We inspired to Moses when his people asked him for water, 'Strike with your staff the stone,' and there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down to them manna and quails, saying, 'Eat from the good things with which We have provided you.' They wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves." Additionally... Surah Al-Anfal (8:12) Surah Al-Isra (17:48) Surah Al-Kahf (18:11) Surah Az-Zumar (39:29)
