Autograph copy of the first volume of an abridgment of al-Bayḍāwī's Anwār al-tanzīl wa asrār al-taʼwīl, a commentary on the Qurʼān. The writer states that he wished he could have taken that book along with him on his trip to Mecca and so wrote a shorter version more conducive to travel (f. 1v).
