The incorporation of heritage poetry is an important technique commonly used by contemportary poets; they see the classics as rich, declarative and subjective. This study examins Syrian poet Fayez Khodour’s use of heritage in his poetry. This topic has not been given the profound analysis that it deserves. In an attempt to place Khodour in his rightful rank among the other poetic geniouses of his time, this study is an in-depth look at his utilization of heritage to enrich the meaning and enhance his poetic style.
